Zimbabwe: Bush Calls for Additional Sanctions Against Country’s Rulers

In response to the Zimbabwean government’s June 27 decision to hold a “sham” presidential run-off election and its campaign of violence against political opponents, President Bush says the United States will prepare additional sanctions against President Robert Mugabe’s regime and will work for strong U.N. and international action to resolve the country’s ongoing crisis.
